Generations of school children have learnt their Catholic Faith from a pocket-sized 'Penny Catechism'. The last summary of Christian Doctrine in this form was published in 1985 at 30p. This Deist pocket edition is, like the above, a summary of all preceding summaries from the work of Bishop Challoner (1691-1781), but it is updated to make greater impact on our modern restless world. It says 'You must not...' instead of 'Thou shalt not...' and adds some problems now relevant. It emphasises God's magnitude as compared with us humans and points the way to an eternity of happiness unknown in our present life.  If followed, its doctrine would help rid planet Earth of cruelty and evil.
